BTEC Level 3

This Sport Science qualification is a two-year course equivalent to 3 A Levels.

The Course Content

This course will focus on knowledge of the key components of the human body for sport and exercise performance. Students will be invited to gain experience in our new state-of-the-art sports facilities lead by our expert teachers.

This programme of study will develop the student’s theoretical knowledge about the human body systems and practical application of methods to test and train athletes in performance improvement.

These courses are suitable for students who wish to progress onto study in Higher Education or who wish to go into employment or apprenticeships. The course is designed to be taken as a full time qualification or alongside A levels.

Personal Training (Level 2)

Students will also have the opportunity to gain an industry recognised personal training qualification during their two-year study. Students will learn about gym-related anatomy, fitness and how to conduct safe and effective personal training sessions.

More than just a course

Each unit is unique to an aspect of the sports sector, drawing on different skills and knowledge to provide evidence of practical competence and academic understanding.

You will be qualified to work in the fitness industry or study at university.

Entry Requirements

Level 3 – To study Advanced Vocational qualifications, you must have achieved at least 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 including English or Maths
