The Academic Excellence Pathway is designed to improve our students’ chances of securing places on the most competitive university courses. It is also an opportunity for students with very good GCSE grades to stretch themselves further and develop their study skills by researching an Extended Project in a topic of interest.
Cambridge IT Technical Diploma

Due to the nature of IT, the skills that the learner will develop through successful completion of these qualifications will enable them to seek employment across sectors as roles apply in business regardless of core business.

Computer Game Design introducers the industry of computer games production though practical exercises. The key areas covered on this course are game design
and production, game mechanics, object construction and animation.

It is a practical course in which you will develop skills like problems solving by using critical thinking, approach non-routine problems applying expert and creative solutions, use systems and technology. You will learn computer programming and other computing knowledge and apply your skills in building applications.

Information Technology – Ex Dip Level 3

Students are taught employability skills for the digital sector and how to find and use information properly. They have hands on experience of computer hardware and networks as well as designing and building websites. Cyber security is a major topic and students will learn about protecting both virtual and physical systems. In every topic links to jobs in the digital sector will be demonstrated.
