Academic Excellence Pathway

A Level

The Academic Excellence Pathway is designed to improve our students’ chances of securing places on the most competitive university courses. It is also an opportunity for students with very good GCSE grades to stretch themselves further and develop their study skills by researching an Extended Project in a topic of interest.

Cambridge IT Technical Diploma

Vocational Level 2 (OCR)

This qualification is for someone who is looking to work in IT within a systems, support or digital roles. Due to the nature of IT, the skills that the learner will develop through successful completion of these qualifications will enable them to seek employment across sectors as roles apply in business regardless of core business.

Computing BTEC Level 3

BTEC Level 3

It is a practical course in which you will develop skills like problems solving by using critical thinking, approach non-routine problems applying expert and creative solutions, use systems and technology. You will learn computer programming and other computing knowledge and apply your skills in building applications.

Creative Media

Level 2 Diploma (OCR)

The media industry is in an age of rapid growth with global communication networks bringing the digital age to every home. This is a one year course which will provide you with all of the requisite skills enabling you to progress and thrive on a level 3 programme of study. Although the course is practical, developing skills such as team-building, communication and presentation, there are substantial written elements that have to be covered in each unit.

Creative Media Extended Diploma (BTEC)

Extended Diploma (BTEC)

The media industry is in an age of rapid growth with global communication networks bringing the digital age to every home. This is a specialist two year course with an integrated creative and technical study of media production. Although the course is practical, developing skills such as team-building, communication and presentation, there are substantial written elements that have to be covered in each unit.

Information Technology Extended Diploma Level 3

Extended Diploma Level 3

Students are taught the links between project planning, systems analysis and design and relational database construction. There are clear links between the units taught. This course equips students with the skills to become successful at university and ultimately, in employment.
