Sport (Manchester City CitC Coaching Pathway) - BTEC Level 3

The BTEC in Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness is a two year course equivalent to 3 A Levels.

This course, is taught at The Cheadle College and includes frequent visits to the Etihad Campus in Manchester.

The ‘City in the Community’ coaches deliver outstanding football coaching on this BTEC course.

You will have the opportunity to gain your FA Level 1 Coaching qualification and a FA referees qualification.

All theory will be reinforced by practical tasks such as:

More than just a course

Each unit is unique to an aspect of the sports sector, drawing on different skills and knowledge to provide evidence of practical competence and academic understanding.

Some of the qualities you will gain are; understanding how the body systems respond to exercise, how to test and plan training, how to coach and instruct, how to evaluate performance and fundamental issues regarding safety in sport.

Students will participate is football sessions 4 days a week (minimum 8 hrs) and play football in the national competitions.

To study Advanced Vocational qualifications you must have achieved at least 4 GCSEs grade 4-9 including English or Maths.
