A LEVEL (EDEXCEL)
You will look at the interactions between people and their environments. You will question and understand why, and how, the world is changing through these interactions.
With a range of topics studied the emphasis is not just on reading and writing, but we encourage students to take part in debates, discussions, activity study and anything that gets us out of our seats and thinking.
- Environmental Management
- Town Planning
- International NGOs
- Social Services
More than just a course
Geography A-Level enhances employability skills such as IT skills, communication skills, team work, problem solving, literacy, numeracy and environmental awareness.
Geography will appeal to you if:
- You are curious about the world’s places, people and environments
- Interested in local, regional and global issues
- You wish to explore human and physical relationships
The course gives you the opportunity to broaden your horizons and skill sets through fieldwork opportunities which will be part of your own independent investigation for the coursework element of the A-Level.
Past field trips have included locations such as Iceland and Barcelona, along with local field trips into Manchester.
This course allows Geography to be taken outside the classroom, and provide you with first hand experiences of case studies you may wish to write about.
- Dynamic Landscapes including Hazards and Landscape systems
- Physical Systems and Sustainability
- Global Development
- Climate Change
