Level 3: The Cheadle College

This exciting and practical course has been designed to meet the needs of the British computing industry. You will cover a wide range of topics designed to give you the opportunity to specialise later on.

All assessment is coursework based. Students produce a portfolio of work that is internally and externally assessed.

The qualification is equivalent to 3 A levels at A* – C

More than just a course

This course offers a fast track to university for students who have no formal qualifications. It will give you a wide knowledge of a range of work-based information technology skills. You will study software applications, Visual Basic programming, business technology, web page design, communications, study skills and numeracy.

A portfolio of written assignments practical role plays/observations and internal/external assessments will provide you with a broad and diverse learning experience.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above including English or maths.

A willingness to collect, organise and interpret information to produce a portfolio of work. The ability to work independently and to meet deadlines

We are an inclusive College and will consider all applications on a case by case basis with no previous experience

Money matters

If you are aged 19 or older, you will be able to apply for a loan to help with the costs of this course. You won’t pay anything back until you’re earning over £21,000 a year. If you then complete a higher education course, you won’t have to repay the remaining of the loan.

Age 19 to 23 – Fee remission applies to someone in receipt of eligible benefits, or where someone is studying their first full Level 3 course.
